Join our Year
of the Dragon Indoor and Outdoor Celebrations - involving
music and dance performed by members of our visiting international
Chinese community and local Chinese community, featuring
traditional Lion Dance and Dragon Dances, and including
new performances created by young East Midlands dancers.
The event will end with a spectacular
firewoks display across the lake at 6pm !
Main Events from 4.30pm:
- Dragon Dance by the Chinese Students and Scholars Association
- Lion Dance by Notts and Derby '7 Star Praying Mantis'
Kung Fu School
- Premieres of new dance works by 'Dance4 CAT', created
by Rong Tao
- Rylands Junior School dance performance
- Fan Mang Mang traditional dance performance
- Nottingham Chinese School music and dance performance
- 'Images of China', accompanied by traditional Chinese
music
- A new dance performance by the Charwood Dance Company
Fireworks at 6pm:
The finale to the days event will be a
Fireworks Spectacular across the Lake at 6pm, created for
Lakeside by Crescendo Fireworks

Meet the Notts Anaconda Dragon
Boat Team
- Angear Visitor Centre, Lakeside Arts Centre, 1pm - 5pm
Following their training session,
there's an opportunity to meet members of the prize-winning
Nottinghamshire Anaconda Dragon Boat Team in the Angear
Visitor Centre together with one of their amazing 15 metre
long Dragon Boats and find out about this terrific sport
which has its roots in ancient China.
