Hemlock Happening 2010

Hemlock Happening Returns In Style
Bramcote Hills Park welcomes back the Hemlock Happening next month for its biggest ever line-up of family activities and live music, dance and arts performances.

Broxtowe Borough Council will host the free event in partnership with the Bramcote and Stapleford Golden Jubilee Group between 1.00pm and 10.45pm on Saturday 12 June. The 2010 Hemlock Happening will look to erase the memory of last year's cancellation by bouncing back with an extravaganza of live entertainment and family activities.

An exciting blend of performances, demonstrations, shows and activities see the event's biggest programme to date, whilst the 'This is who we are' theme gives visitors the chance to experience the range of activities on offer in Broxtowe Borough thanks to activities provided by over 35 separate local groups and organisations.

The event will offer a packed programme of performances from local and professional artists on the main stage, giving visitors the chance to enjoy the popular Dogs Day Out and see history come to life with re-enactments from the Team Falchion group.

Visitors can also enjoy a field full of family activities, including a mini beast hunt with staff from Attenborough Nature Reserve, a free climbing wall, hand massages and various dance workshops.

Refreshments will be available from your choice of smoothie and noodle bars, along with stalls offering hot snacks, coffee and ice cream. The Castle Rock Brewery's beer tent is also giving grown ups the chance to sample Hemlock Bitter in the shadow of the Hemlock Stone.

The Hemlock Happening is a free family event funded by Broxtowe Borough Council, Stapleford Town Council, Nottinghamshire County Council and the Bramcote Hills Community Association. The event's main sponsor is Castle Rock Breweries. Now in its eighth year, the event provides a day-long programme of free music, dance and drama performances by local schools, youth groups, bands and other groups which culminates in a fantastic firework display.
